To Skunk Counselors,

The Counselor List is available so people can contact local experts to answer their questions, let skunks out of traps, pick up orphaned and injured skunks, or just to consult on how to close off under their house.

You will be supplied with updated information and we can all share remedies, ideas and experiences that will help update this site.

The video, "Rescue, Handling and Care of Wild Skunks",  and  book, "Stinky Business:  How To Rehabilitate Skunks", is an excellent way to add to your expertise.

You can charge for these services if you like.  The general
public is very appreciative of this specialized service.

Some Skunk Counselors are licensed to rehabilitate, trap and/or relocate.  Some will just do consultations and make referrals to licensed professionals.  All are trained to answer your questions and help you with your skunk problems.  If a situation arises where they cannot, they have a list of local people who can help you.  These Counselors can also refer you to other species specialists.  

REMEMBER, most trappers, exterminators, and animal control officers will not deal with skunks unless they are in a trap, and will kill them.  Trapping rarely is necessary and doesn't work in most cases where the skunk is concerned.
